When Does Your Logo Need a Refresh?

A logo represents your farm and business. It’s tied to everything you do—from print advertising and social media to show displays and promotional gear. In many cases, it’s a symbol that has represented a farm for generations.

Refreshing your logo doesn’t mean starting over. It means modernizing what you already have—keeping key elements of the original logo while updating it for today. This approach maintains recognition and tradition while allowing your brand to evolve.

So how do you know when it’s time for a logo refresh?

• When the logo feels outdated

• When it no longer aligns with your mission or values

• When it no longer connects with your audience

• When your farm or genetics have advanced

• When your farm or business begins offering new services

A strong logo should:

• Reflect your farm or business growth and future direction

• Remain relevant over time

• Look clean and modern

• Work seamlessly across all platforms—from digital and print advertising to clothing and show displays

We originally designed the Kunde Jersey Farm logo about five years ago. In December, Jennifer reached out to us to ask our thoughts on an update. Their farm had achieved an exciting milestone—they were the breeder of the 2025 World Dairy Expo Intermediate Champion Jersey, Kunde Chocolatier Hot Cocoa. Should the current cow in their logo be replaced with a graphic of this impressive winning Junior 3-year-old?

Our answer was an absolute yes—it was a must.

We kept the logo’s core elements intact, simply updating the cow graphic. The bold red arch with the Kunde name remained, preserving the recognition they’ve built, while the new cow graphic reflects how the farm and their cattle continue to advance since the original design.

Hot Cocoa is a stunning representation of what Kunde Jersey Farm strives for: excellence, progress, and quality. Through hard work and dedication, this Manchester, Iowa, farm has continued to develop their genetics—and a logo that reflects their quality herd.

Congratulations to our client, Kunde Jersey Farm, on their continued success!
